RenderDoc operates on a subscription-based pricing model where you pay monthly for access to document generation services. This Refund Policy outlines our policy regarding payments and refunds for subscriptions.
By subscribing to RenderDoc, you acknowledge and agree to this Refund Policy.
2. General Refund Policy
2.1 Monthly Subscriptions
Monthly subscription payments are generally non-refundable. When you subscribe to a paid plan, you are billed at the beginning of each billing cycle and receive immediate access to your plan's features and document limits.
2.2 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation:
- You will retain access to your paid features until the end of your current billing period
- No refund will be issued for the remaining days of the current billing period
- Your account will revert to the Free plan after the billing period ends
- Your templates and data will be preserved
2.3 Try Before You Subscribe
Free Plan Available
We recommend using our Free plan (20 documents per month) to thoroughly test the platform before upgrading to a paid subscription. This allows you to:
- Test our document generation API
- Verify template rendering and output quality
- Evaluate PDF and Excel generation
- Ensure our platform meets your requirements
3. Exceptions and Special Circumstances
3.1 Billing Errors
If you are charged incorrectly due to a technical or billing error on our part, we will refund the incorrect amount immediately upon verification. This includes:
- Duplicate charges for the same billing period
- Incorrect pricing applied to your subscription
- System errors that resulted in overcharging
- Charges after a successful cancellation
3.2 Unauthorized Charges
If you believe a charge was unauthorized or fraudulent, please contact us immediately. We will investigate and issue a refund if the charge was indeed unauthorized.
3.3 Service Outages
If we experience a significant service outage that prevents you from using the Services for an extended period (more than 48 consecutive hours), you may be eligible for service credits or a partial refund at our discretion.
3.4 First-Time Subscribers
For first-time paid subscribers who are unsatisfied with the service, we may consider a refund request within the first 7 days of subscription if:
- You have generated fewer than 10 documents
- You can demonstrate a specific technical issue that prevented proper use
- You contact us within 7 days of your first payment
This is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed.
4. How Subscription Plans Work
4.1 Plan Tiers
RenderDoc offers the following subscription plans:
- Free: $0/month - 20 documents, 2 templates
- Starter: $19/month - 100 documents, 5 templates
- Growth: $49/month - 1,000 documents, 20 templates
- Scale: $149/month - 5,000 documents, 50 templates
4.2 Document Limits
Each plan includes a monthly document generation limit. Document counts reset at the beginning of each billing cycle. Unused documents do not roll over to the next month.
4.3 Plan Changes
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time:
- Upgrades: Take effect immediately. You'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing cycle.
- Downgrades: Take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You retain access to your current plan until then.
5. Chargebacks and Disputes
5.1 Contact Us First
Before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider, please contact us first. We are committed to resolving billing disputes fairly and promptly.
5.2 Chargeback Consequences
Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in:
- Immediate suspension of your account
- Loss of access to all templates and services
- Inability to create a new account in the future
If a chargeback is found to be unjustified, we reserve the right to pursue recovery of the disputed amount plus any associated fees.
6. How to Request Billing Support
6.1 Contact Information
If you have a billing question or believe you're eligible for a refund under the exceptions listed above, please contact our billing team with:
- Your account email address
- Transaction ID or invoice number
- Detailed description of the issue
- Any relevant screenshots or documentation
6.2 Response Time
Billing inquiries are typically reviewed and responded to within 1-2 business days. Approved refunds (for eligible circumstances only) are processed within 5-7 business days and returned to the original payment method within 7-10 business days.

7.1 Closing Your Account
If you choose to close your RenderDoc account:
- Your subscription will be cancelled immediately
- You will retain access until the end of your current billing period
- No refund will be issued for unused time
- Your templates and data may be deleted according to our data retention policy
7.2 Account Suspension
If your account is suspended or terminated for violation of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, no refund will be provided.
8. Changes to This Refund Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. Continued use of the Services after changes constitute acceptance of the modified policy.
